How’s everyone?
With the cold snap and yellow sand lately, is everyone in good health?

It has been approximately 3 months since Andy started life in the army.
Lately Andy has been assigned to the National Defense Media Agency to serve on the External Affairs Team and is getting on in good health.

Andy, who’s now earnestly fulfilling his national service, debuted together with Shinhwa on 24th March 1998, and today marks their 12th anniversary.

To all of you who have been giving Andy and Shinhwa much love and encouragement, let’s celebrate their 12th anniversary together.

We’re not just congratulating Shinhwa on their 12th anniversary, we’re also expressing our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have cried and laughed with Andy, and gave your continuous support and love to Andy.

Not just for 12 years, going forward, please continue to give Shinhwa and Andy your love and support.

Even if this is hypothetical it’s still discomforting, because of this deeply Nazi premise I watched this film.

Perhaps if this method of controlling human lives by force is used,
If you have the thought that you’ll suddenly die one day, during the prime of your life when you should be dreaming,
Would you be able to live with more conviction…
At least the thought of ‘anyone can die any day’
Might reduce cases of people who insist on ending their own lives.

The pain of reality is nothing in the face of death.
The premise of the movie isn’t too different from reality.
Although we are people who are alive, we are also just people who haven’t died yet.
In the face of life where we don’t know when and what will be, we have to make every day meaningful.

[10.03.22] Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo quietly begins basic military training today

Lee Minwoo (31), member of popular group Shinhwa, has begun his military training on 22 March.

Lee Minwoo enlisted this afternoon at the 37th Infantry Division in Jeungpyeong County in North Chungcheong-do for the 4-week basic military training course. Upon completion of the training course, Lee Minwoo is expected to return to the Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail), at its Seoul headquarters situated in Yongsan-gu (Seoul Station), to serve his military duty as a public service officer.

After suffering injuries to his spine and ankle in a traffic accident in December last year, Lee Minwoo began his military service on 25th February as a public service officer at Seoul Station.

A source close to Lee Minwoo said that he wished to enlist for training quietly thus news of this was only released on the day of his admittance into the training center.

Having made his debut with Shinhwa in 1998, Lee Minwoo has gone on to start a solo career and has released 4 full albums so far. He has been taking a break since releasing his 4.5th mini album in June last year.

[10.03.13][news] Singer Shin Hyesung’s new challenge – “I still want to grow”

Korean singer Shin Hyesung’s album “Find voice in song”, sung in Japanese has been released. This is the official Japan solo debut work for Shin Hyesung, main vocalist of popular group SHINHWA. Having come to Japan in the last leg of Februray for promotion, I inquired of his thoughts on the new album. (Saitou Tomoko)

–With this time’s album, is there anything you have discovered about yourself?

To me, this was a new challenge. Whenever I am making an album, I am always happy to be singing the songs, however, lately, I felt that this unchartered road is still far, and that I still have lots of room to grow, that there are many portions that are still unsatisfactory. Until now, I have had similar feelings but, as I did various kinds of music, I felt that there are many points about the music that I should also study. I believe it is this kind of album.

–In the song “Over the rainbow” are the lyrics “Someday lets cross the bridge again as friends.” The lyrics are calling to friends you have been separated from, with what kind of image did you sing this?

With this song, I thought of friends who I have not seen for a long time, and felt that I wanted to see them again. Many have said to me, “Right now, Shinhwa is on hiatus, and each member has their own circumstances rendering the group unable to do activities together, and with this song I think of that.” It is the same for me. Right now, we can’t do activities together and are doing individual activities, I think of these members. I recorded while remembering the Shinhwa members, or my own friends who I have not been able to meet.

–In the same song “Over the rainbow,” there are also the lyrics “It won’t change, my feelings will always be the same.” On the other hand, Hyesung is always making new challenges. What are the things you want to change from now on, and the things you don’t want to change?

The things I want to change, in terms of music I would like to further broaden my own volume and breadth. Of course, I am a singer who concentrates on ballads, but I cannot solely sing ballads. I would like to sing a great variety of music, those which suit me, and those which I can present well. I would like to widen my musical breadth, my spectrum, so to speak.

I have been in the industry for 12 years now, but from now on it will be a longer interval, and I will continue singing. Thus, the relation between those who are listening closely to my songs, I woul like that to continue and not change.

–When you were working on the album, was there any phrase or word in Japanese that you particularly liked, or felt it was beautiful?

In this album, there is a song called “Galaxy (Ginga),” I think the title word, “ginga” is very pretty.

Born in November of 1979. The main vocal of Korea’s 6-member popular group Shinhwa which debuted in 98. As the 5 members excluding Hyesung are currently serving in the military, group activities as Shinhwa are currently on stopped.

[10.03.15] Dongwan’s photolog: A trip to Jeju-do on White Day.

Apparently White Day is celebrated in only Korea and Japan. Why was it created…-_-;
I hate hearing irrelevant kids whining for candy, and I hate seeing couples,
Anyhow I left for Jeju-do.

Going to catch the sunset in Chagui-do…

Though there was some yellow dust, the weather was pretty clear. Jeju-do was filled with the beams of the Spring sun~

I saw a seagull couple eating seaweed, and though I hate to see couples, for some reason it was heartwarming. ^0^

Standing on the horizon, the endlessness made me feel my insignificant existence..

Enjoying the sunset in Chagui-do.. If there was no yellow dust and a little more clouds, there could have been a beautiful purple sunset…
What do you mean it’s different from the sunset in Jeongeup!! -_-;

The basalt coast in Jeju-do is really beautiful~

The next day I intended to wake up early to go up Seongsan Sunrise Peak, but as the weather was really really bad, I slept in.
On the way back I met a cute and young lady horse~

I ate 4 meals of abalone hot pot and grilled tilefish.
The grilled tilefish was really delicious~^^

You like someone, you want to read his mind, and expect back as much as you’ve given, and eventually it becomes hate.
This kind of repetition becomes tedious and you frivolously, or insincerely, keep dating people you shouldn’t date,

[10.03.11] Kim Dongwan expresses sentiment on personal blog about murder of Busan high school girl

Shinhwa member Kim Dongwan has expressed his thoughts about the recent shocking rape and murder case of a 13-year-old high school girl in Busan with a post titled “The Chaotic World” on his personal blog on 10th March.

Kim Dongwan wrote, “I used to think that even if I can’t get married, I must still have children, but I’ve changed my thinking, even if I get married, I don’t want to have children. I’m already scared thinking about how my child will have to live in such a chaotic world.”

Police have arrested the suspect Kim Gil Tae (33) on March 10th.

Let’s all get ourselves vaccinated against hepatitis~
People who received the Hepatitis A vaccination when you were young, if you’re no longer in your teens, most of you would no longer have the antibodies,
So it’s fine if you just directly get the vaccination shot without a checkup~
I got a headache for 2-3 days in a row after that… So don’t get vaccinated before any important dates. ^^

[10.03.01] Lee Minwoo has begun serving as a public service officer since end Feb

News that Lee Minwoo, member of popular group Shinhwa, has already begun his military duty, has been belatedly released.

According to a rep of Lee Minwoo on 1 March, following his farewell concert held on 21 Feb at Seoul’s Mapo Art Center, Lee Minwoo had gone on to begin his military duties as a public service officer in Yongsan, Seoul.

The rep said, “Normally he would have to go through a 4-week basic military training course before being deployed as a public service officer, but in December last year he met with a car accident that left him with injuries to the neck, spine and ankle so he will complete the training at a later date.”
