[09.05.03] Shin Hyesung hurts knee in first concert of Asia tour (+ news photos)

Shinhwa member Shin Hyesung fell and hurt himself during the first concert of his “2009 Shin Hyesung Keep Leaves Tour in Seoul” at Ewha Women’s University on 2nd May. About 2,800 fans attended the concert.

Shin Hyesung was re-entering the stage during the fan photograph segment, but unfortunately got his foot wedged between the steps and fell. A spokesperson from his management agency said, “He escaped the crisis of a fracture and continued with the concert. However, his knee was hurt.” Shin Hyesung had continued with his performance despite a slight limp.

After ending the Seoul leg of the concert, Shin Hyesung will continue with the tour in Busan on 31st May; Taiwan and Singapore in July; Shanghai, Osaka and Tokyo in August. He will also be releasing a special album in Korea in June and embark on promotional activities.

I’ll carry on with the comeback even if I’m in a cast

Shinhwa’s Junjin has injured his wrist with his comeback performance just days away on 9th May, distressing many around him and his fans.

Junjin had previously cracked his shoulder blade in early January this year during the filming of the bobsledding special of MBC’s Infinite Challenge. Now that he has injured his wrist so close to his comeback performance, people around him are feeling upset for him.

However the news of Junjin’s injury has been met with unpleasant reactions such as “He’s trying to delay enlistment” and “It’s a ploy to create publicity”. Because of this, Junjin has been bearing the pain and working even harder to prepare for his comeback to refute these rumours.

Junjin had aggravated his wrist injury during a recording session for Infinite Challenge on 30th April as he injured the same spot once again. He will now require surgery on his injury and it will take 6 weeks for his wrist to heal fully. Despite this, he has displayed his remarkable fighting spirit and has still gone on to wrap up his album jacket photoshoot on 1st May as well as a music video filming session on 2nd May.

In Iwate for the first time I chanced upon
A very very very very very very clear sky
There are many plateaus in Tono so we travelled by bicycle~
It’s about 5.5km to Kappa-buchi?
The sky was really blue so I was in a really good mood!

Do you remember this place?
In the ending scene of “Summer Days with Kappa Coo”
Here’s the place where Kappa Coo prayed to the gods of the land.

“Please forgive me for eating fish from this lotus pond.”
“Please forgive me for living on this land for a while.”

For having food to eat and a place to live, I’ve never even thanked God much.
Kappa begging the gods for forgiveness left a very deep impression on me~
Why do I have tears in my eyes…ㅜㅜ

Although sakura blossoms are plentiful, there were even more new sakura blossoms in the land of Kappas…

My dongsaeng got excited again..

The apples, rice and seafood in Iwate are really delicious!
And even the yellow apples are delicious!

On the way back we met some students from the volleyball team from Kamaishi Minami Junior High.
When I took their photo they were staring elsewhere
And when my dongsaeng took their picture they did a V sign…! -_-;

p.s. The chubby friend on the right wasn’t doing a ‘fuck you’ gesture. One finger of the V sign is hidden. ㅋㅋㅋ
(DISCLAIMER: I SWEAR I didn’t make this part up… He really wrote ‘fuck you’ in Hangul…! LOL)


Took one last photo on the way back to Shin-Hanamaki Station.
The color of the skies seemed to be saying goodbye to us~

New Junjin newsflash! (and Davichi news too)

9th May is the day of the first programme appearance. ^^

‘Hey Ya!’ (Songwriter Kim Tae Hyun/Lyricist Ahn Young Min) and ‘Pabo Cheorom (Like A Fool)’ (Songwriter Ahn Young Min/Lyricist Kang Min Kyung), he might be performing both songs

Son Dambi features on ‘Hey Ya!’ while Lee Shi Young features on ‘Like A Fool’.

Notably, ‘Like A Fool’ is written by Davichi’s Kang Min Kyung.
Actually Kang Min Kyung is great at writing both songs and lyrics, perhaps everyone hasn’t got seen that yet ^^
Starting from Junjin’s song, Minkyungie has started to write songs too.
Please look forward to it.

2009 Shin Hyesung Keep Leaves Tour in Seoul (2nd May): Fan recap

A concert that lasted just short of 2 and a half hours
It was a surreal night with the experiences from the beginning until the end

Speaking about what I thought of the concert,
HS is better at managing the atmosphere
He talked a lot, and asked the audience to respond accordingly to what he asked for. For example whenever he said an old song was rearranged, he said that the fans should all cheer and go ‘Ho~~’ and so after that everyone was very cooperative and did so accordingly
And the chemistry with the band was even better. The few songs that were rearranged were very interestingly done. The different presentation gave it a different feeling, and with some simple lighting the atmosphere was really romantic
Also, HS did the aegyo dance most outstandingly out of all the dance. It was really cute, and when he shook his ass… I don’t know how many of us in the audience went crazy…


Actually this concert was simpler than the Seoul concert half a year ago. The stage and the duration wasn’t as good as the last one (the last one was about 3 hours long…) But it has the distinct qualities of a HS concert, which are - great stage, spectacular vocals and a surreal atmosphere

I have to mention, Singer Shin tripped and fell.
The stage was very dark and I guess he didn’t notice the steps
As the curtains came down and the photos of the fans were being shown, it was dark onstage and offstage. He might have been looking at the photos and didn’t pay attention to his feet and then we heard a loud sound…
At first we didn’t know what sound it was, except that it was the sound of something falling. Then after the photos were all shown HS was supposed to come on stage as the piano started playing, but when he didn’t come up after a long time I realized that HS was the one who fell. When he eventually walked out slowly I looked at him and I could tell that he was in pain and he was just bearing the pain quietly. He was quiet and the atmosphere was now different from just now where he cracked jokes and all so I started to get worried…

He sang ‘You Raise Me Up’ but in that kind of atmosphere I just started to cry… After that he said that the atmosphere was really awkward, and that he wanted a fun and lighthearted atmosphere from the beginning of the concert, and then evolve with more emotions but that fall screwed things up. For me, rather than to say it was a screw-up, it was more like a different emotion was triggered, I was moved by the brave responsibility of a singer

After that he didn’t move much, and luckily it was all ballads. Of course I didn’t want him to move anymore.
The last song was ‘Why Did You Call’ , and listening to it live really makes one feel sad. [It sounded like it came from his heart so I could feel the heartbreak in the song] How did he manage to sing it so well…how can this voice move people so much… Questions like this kept coming…

After this was the encore. Actually I didn’t want him to step out anymore, because when he came down the stage, he was walking normally where people could see. But I could see when he reached the side of the stage, he bent down and the staff rushed out to help him. Not many people could see that, so once the lights went out everyone started to shout for an encore. After some time, he walked out slowly.

Maybe he could feel that after the fall the fans weren’t in the same mood anymore. So the perfectionist in him tried ways and means to liven up the atmosphere. He said that coming onstage for an encore, the fans weren’t really enthusiastic when they shouted for an encore, and said that they should have cheered more loudly and so he pretended to walk off. Of course the fans protested and he made everyone cheer again by walking to the dark side of the stage. We shouted for an encore really loudly this time and Singer Shin walked out happily and started, pretending as if nothing has happened. Hehe.

He said because of the fall earlier, the desired atmosphere for the English song wasn’t achieved, but in fact the atmosphere was really good. The encore was ‘Same Thought’, and everyone sang along with him, and he ended the song perfectly. He then thanked everyone happily and earnestly for coming to see him.

What he said was really awesome:
Some simple words such as ‘love’ and ‘thanks’ can simply and directly convey the emotions of the speaker. So what I want to say to all of you is ‘Thanks’ [and he did a 90-degree bow]

HS’s family members came by today, and then he said that his family has been urging him to get married and he joked that he was going to a matchmaking session. The fans all shouted ‘Andwae!’ (No way!)
After the concert ended the fans waited outside for a long time, and the fans didn’t scream when he came out after a long while, and just gave him a thumbs-up and saw him leave in the car. Everyone must be feeling his pain…

[09.05.02] Junjin suffers wrist injury days before 9th May comeback stage

Shinhwa group member Junjin has suffered a wrist injury days before his comeback performance.

Junjin’s management agency said on 2 May, “Junjin, who has a comeback performance lined up on MBC’s Show! Music Core on 9th May, has suffered an injury to his wrist. Junjin has been preparing for a powerful stage performance, but days before the planned comeback performance he injured his wrist while he was exercising.”

According to Junjin’s doctor, it will take 6 weeks for his injury to recover fully and will also require surgery. However with the comeback performance just days away he pushed himself to continue with preparations. On 30th April during the recording of MBC variety show ‘Infinite Challenge’ he injured the same spot again, further aggravating the injury.

Despite his injury, Junjin went on to work on the photoshoot for the album cover on 1st May and to start filming for the music video on 2nd May. In order to meet the timeline he will be filming overnight for another music video filming session next week. At this point it’s unclear whether his comeback activities will be affected.

[09.05.02] Dongwan’s photolog: The day of seeing Kannon-sama

It was the day we went to see Kannon-sama (The Japanese name for the Goddess of Mercy statue in Kamaishi)!
The weather was exceptionally good…

Since the weather was really good I walked to the station with my dongsaeng..

Taking pictures of each other~

It was a relaxed itinerary!

But. As soon as we arrived.
The sky was overcast with dark clouds…. -_-*

Still waiting!

Thanks to the sun who showed its face moments later, Kannon-sam exuded a pink glow! ~^^

The dark clouds that approached once again… ㅜㅜ
We gave up and returned to Kamaishi Station..

Oh! The bright clouds are pushing the dark clouds aside!

Taxi ahjusshi! Quickly take us to the Kannon-sama!!!

Thanks to the kind ahjusshi.
We ended the itinerary for the day by seeing the back view of the Kannon-sama~!
In the morning we were still taking our time and we didn’t get a good look at the shy Kannon-sama… ㅜㅜ

Although we didn’t get a good look in Kamishi.
But to experience the grandeur of the Goddess of Mercy statue alone
There’s already enough value in that~
You can only feel 1/10th of the magnificence from the photos… ㅜㅜ
You must experience it for yourself someday~

Me too, I’ll find some time and after checking the weather… Challenge it once again!!^^

[09.04.30] Junjin’s comeback in May - Son Dambi or Lee Shi Young?

Shinhwa member Junjin will be making his comeback to the music scene in May with his new mini-album ‘Fascination’. Junjin will be releasing his new album ‘Fascination’ and returning to his main role as a singer on 7th May, and will kick off his promotional activities with a comeback stage on MBC Show! Music Core on 9th May.

The participation of ‘Sexy Queen’ Son Dambi - whose ‘Saturday Night’ has gained much success; and newcomer actress and Junjin’s WGM ‘wife’ Lee Shi Young, in this album have attracted much interest. Son Dambi in the dance track ‘Hey Ya!’ and Lee Shi Young in ‘Pabo Cheorom’ (Like A Fool), both shine in their respective roles.

Junjin now faces the happy dilemma of choosing either Son Dambi or Lee Shi Young for his comeback stage performance. Between Son Dambi who displayed great chemistry with Junjin in a joint performance last year; and Lee Shi Young who showed her potential by chance on WGM, all eyes are on the final choice for ‘Junjin’s woman’.

On the other hand, happening in tandem with Junjin’s promotional activities will be his Asia tour, which will take him to 5 countries: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Japan and Thailand.
