[09.04.20] Andy to donate proceeds from China fanmeeting to charity for disabled children

bigheartandy

Singer Andy, who has received much love and support from fans in China, will be donating part of the proceeds from his upcoming fanmeeting in Chengdu, Sichuan in China to the Chengdu Federation of the Disabled, in a bid to help children with disabilities.

Andy’s fanmeeting will be held at the Chengdu Golden Theater on 25th April - ‘FIRST LOVE Meeting You’.

He had previously donated part of the proceedings from his Qingdao fanmeeting last year to help children with heart disease.

Andy said, “I want to repay the love and support that the fans have given to me, and I’m looking forward to my first meeting with the fans in Sichuan.”

MG Show, the ticketing agency for this fanmeeting expressed, “The ticketing system went live in early April and the response has been overwhelming. All VIP tickets were sold out very quickly. As Chengdu is further than Beijing or Shanghai in terms of geographical distance, there hasn’t been many performances here by Korean stars. Shinhwa member Andy is visiting for the first time, and it’s attracting a lot of interest from fans.”

Andy will also be starting work at the end of April on the SBS daily drama ‘Two Wives’, and also release his 2nd solo album at the end of May.

Hyesung on Shinhwa during ‘Star Night With Park Kyung Rim’ (edited & updated with audio)

this would answer why I love the guys so much
----------------------------------------------------------
The members’ reactions after listening to Side 2 - around 5:30 to 7:08

PKR: How did the Shinhwa members react? What did they say after listening to the album?
HS: Ah… Have they even listened to it? Haha… But I think they would have heard the title song, are they still human beings if they didn’t? (laughs)
PKR: When you released your album, which of the members contacted you?
HS: When the album was first released, Dongwan was the first to send me a text message.
PKR: Dongwan indeed
HS: He always shows a lot of concern at times like these.
PKR: He cares a lot for people, and he seems to have lots of free time lately.
HS: He’s especially free these days that he’s checking on me so strictly… Makes me feel frustrated… He’s annoying.
PKR: What did he say?
HS: When the album was just released, he said it was really great. Usually he would joke and say some mean things, but this time he actually complimented me, so I feel really happy. But Eric didn’t say much at all, he had nothing to say at all about the songs.
PKR: So if Eric releases an album, Hyesung won’t say anything either I suppose.
HS: Yeah, nothing at all.
PKR: Ah so you do this to each other
HS: I won’t tell him this of course, I’ll just catch him unaware when necessary.
PKR: You make calculated moves, don’t you…
HS: But in any case everyone has been really supportive so I’m really happy. Junjin has been kidding around and helping to promote my song. When I call him, he’d sing my song.
PKR: Junjin’s a really loyal friend
HS: He’d give me strength at unexpected moments, although he usually doesn’t… but at times like these…
PKR: I feel that although the Shinhwa members may be busy with their own solo activities, but once you all get together, even if you don’t do anything you’ll already be giving each other strength.
HS: Of course. To me they’re like my home, we can’t live without our homes, can we? Where would we sleep and where would we eat?

11 years since their debut - from 7:23 to 9:00

PKR: It’s really quite incredible, it’s been 12 years since your debut?
HS: 11 years. Just a while ago on 24th March, it was our 11th anniversary. We gathered for a celebration, and though it’s hard for us to get together usually, everyone including the members serving their military duty also turned up. The 6 of us had a lot of fun together.
PKR: How does it feel to have gone through 11 years…?
HS: 11 years is a long time, and sometimes even we can’t quite believe it. It feels like time has really passed by very quickly, we’ve turned from 20 years old to 30 years old in a flash….
PKR: I personally like Shinhwa very much, and the reason why I respect Shinhwa so much is because… Many things have happened for you guys, and you all have encountered many temptations, isn’t it?
HS: Of course
PKR: But you continue to look out for each other, no matter who is enjoying success or who doesn’t quite have things going smoothly, all of you protect the name of Shinhwa without taking any personal agendas into consideration. Being able to hold on to Shinhwa for more than 10 years, that’s an amazing feat. (She couldn’t have said it better…)
HS: For this, I’m very grateful to the members, I really feel that they’re awesome, and I feel really happy.
PKR: Does Hyesung think of the members when you sing ‘Why Did You Call’?
HS: Hahahahhaha
PKR: Is that what you say when the members call?
HS: On the contrary, actually. I’d say in a reprimanding tone, ‘Why didn’t you call…’

What does Shinhwa mean to Shin Hyesung - from 28:42 to 28:57

PKR: There are lots to say about Shinhwa, so what is Shinhwa to Hyesung? What does it mean to you?
HS: I mentioned it earlier, Shinhwa is like my home, my hometown, it’s something that I cannot do without.

What are the good points and shortcomings of the Shinhwa members? - from 28:57 to 31:38

PKR: Based on Hyesung’s opinion, what are the good points of the members? Let’s start from Dongwan.
HS: Dongwan, he shows a lot of concern for people. Minwoo often spurs us on and leads us into action. As for Andy, he’s very reliable and does a solid job all the time, he doesn’t seem like the youngest at all.
PKR: What about Eric?
HS: Let’s leave Eric to the last one.
PKR: What about Junjin then?
HS: Junjin’s a great guy, he’s really kind.
PKR: So what about Eric?
HS: Let’s omit him.
PKR: Why? Omit?
HS: Ah there’s something! He’s useful.
PKR: Useful?
HS: He lives in the apartment one level below me, so if I want to eat ramyeon, he can bring some packets up. He’s useful like that. Hahahaha… Just kidding…

PKR: We’ll talk about their shortcomings then, let’s start with Dongwan.
HS: He’s very annoying.
PKR: He’s caring but annoying… What about Minwoo?
HS: He moves forward too quickly, sometimes he has to look behind him.
PKR: Andy?
HS: He always thinks he’s the big brother, I nearly got hit by him once.
PKR: We’ll leave Eric to the last, so what about Junjin?
HS: He’s a good guy, but he’s too playful and mischievous, that’s a little detestable.
PKR: He’s a good guy, but detestable, isn’t that a split personality? So what about Eric?
HS: He’s just a nuisance. Hahahahahhaa……
PKR: So today we find out through Hyesung, that all of them have split personalities.
HS: Isn’t that more realistic…
PKR: That’s to say they’re really strange people, right? Caring but annoying; a good leader but moves too quickly; reliable but thinks of himself as the big brother; a good guy but detestable because he’s too playful; and useful but a nuisance… (We already kind of knew that they’re weird folks didn’t we? LOL)
HS: Hahahahahhahahahah
PKR: It’s a special way to analyze them… I’d like to introduce a psychiatrist to you
HS: A specialist? Do I get a discount?
PKR: If you bring those 5 guys along, you’ll get free consultation… (HAHAHAHAHAHHAH OMG SHE’S TOO FUNNY)

Hyesung and the Shinhwa members - from 31:45 to 33:04

PKR: So now I’ll ask you a question and you have to quickly say the name of the member that corresponds to the question. Who among the Shinhwa members is jealous of you?
HS: Dongwan
PKR: And who are you jealous of?
HS: Hmmmm *long pause* Minwoo
PKR: Is it Minwoo? You took a long time to answer that.
HS: Minwoo has certain qualities that I’m very envious of. Although we’re both Type A but our characters are completely opposite. He’s lively, gets on well with people and he’s always surrounded by people. I’m envious of that.
PKR: Which member are you more awkward with these days?
HS: Recently it’s Minwoo. A little unbelievable actually. I feel close to the other members when we meet, but I’m just awkward with Minwoo, I don’t know why it’s like that.
PKR: Could it because you haven’t seen each other for a long time? Or is it because he has a girlfriend now?
HS: Maybe that’s why I feel awkward around him, so I dislike him a little these days. (Go get one yourself!)
PKR: I get it, so the person you dislike now isn’t Eric, but Minwoo? (!!!! *nervous*)
HS: Probably (laughs)

During the 11th anniversary celebration - from 33:10 to 35:19
HS: On the day of our gathering, something really funny happened. That day all 6 of us got together and we prepared a cake. After that we asked Junjin to be the representative to hold the cake and blow out the candles after we all said our congratulations. At that point, Junjin had tears in his eyes as he was holding the cake and said, “Hyung, I feel like crying.” He looked really adorable, and then we told him, “Ok, make a wish and then blow out the candles.” He blew out the candles with tears in his eyes and when he was about to sit down, his chair got pulled away….
PKR: Did Eric do that? (LOLOLOLOL most probably… but Dongwan is next on my suspect list…)
HS: I don’t know who did it… But he flipped over 3 times with tears in his eyes and we couldn’t stop laughing for 30 minutes. He had just said, “Hyung, I feel like crying”, and he went tumbling… We nearly died laughing. (LOLOLOL you dorks…. I don’t know whether to cry or laugh…)
PKR: And you didn’t record that moment on camera?
HS: If we did, it would come out tops in America’s Funniest Home Videos.
PKR: That’s Shinhwa for you… Even when they’re moved to tears they’re still so amusing. To end this off, say something to the Shinhwa members, something cheerful.
HS: Cheerful? I’ve been picking up the tab when we meet, you guys have to pay some money too…. (laughs) what I want to say is, let’s meet up when there’s time!

[09.04.17] Andy to shed off the straitlaced ‘An-sobang’ image in ‘Two Wives’

This is actually the transcript of an interview he did, and you can click HERE to view the video (you’ll need Windows Media Player)
-------------------------------------------------

Singer/producer Andy will take on the role of Yoon Nam Joon in the upcoming SBS daily drama ‘Two Wives’, who is the insensible younger brother of Kim Ji Young’s character.

Q) And your role in the drama…?
A) I play the younger brother of Yoon Young Hee, played by Kim Ji Young. He seems to be always getting into trouble and often doing exasperating things but he’s really very a warm-hearted person who is very concerned about his family.

In this drama, he will abandon the image of the sweet and sensible An-sobang, and transform into a reckless loafer.

Q) Breaking away from ‘An-sobang’…?
A) I’d like to try getting away from that image. But in this case I have to play out a character who seems to be very dissatisfied with society, however he isn’t a bad guy. I really have to try to play out this image in my own way and according to my own direction.

Q) And a change in appearance…?
A) “The image is still a secret now. I’m still thinking about this, but it will be very different from the An-sobang image.

Andy, who has displayed his acting abilities through sitcoms and musicals, will also have an onscreen romance with Lee Yoo Jin in a older woman-younger man relationship. What can we expect to see? Do stay tuned to find out.

Q) Any words for the Ystar viewers?
A) It’s my first challenging role in a drama. I hope everyone will show more support for “Two Wives”.

[09.04.17] WGM production team: Junjin/Lee Shi Young not leaving the show

The production team behind MBC variety show ‘Sunday Sunday Night - We Got Married’ has refuted rumors of Junjin and Lee Shi Young leaving the show, which started circulating on 16th April. According to them, these rumors are ‘completely unfounded’.

A spokesperson from the production team told Star News through a telephone interview, “Rumors that Junjin and Lee Shi Young will be leaving the show in early May are completely unfounded. At the moment we’re not considering any such plans at all.”

Junjin and Lee Shi Young joined the show after the Seollal special early this year, and gained much popularity as the bickering couple, among the recent rumours of them dating for real. The production team has emphasized that this couple is still slated to carry on with their participation in the show.

On the other hand, Jung Hyung Don, whose relationship with a variety show writer has come to light recently, will exit the show with partner Tae Yeon in early May. The production team has announced that an extensive revamp is being planned for WGM in early May.

[09.04.16] Public service officer Kim Dongwan now commutes by bicycle instead

Public service officer Kim Dongwan now rides a bicycle between his workplace and home.

Currently serving at the Seodaemun Administrative Office, Kim Dongwan is now commuting to work by bicycle as he had been inundated by curious members of the public when he took the bus to work.

A spokesperson from Kim Dongwan’s management company told Newsen on 16th April, “Now Kim Dongwan uses the bicycle to get to work instead. Not too long ago he was swamped by crowds of people and he had a very hard time. After that he decided to use the bicycle as a means of transportation.”

“Compared to driving a car, riding a bicycle is good for health too. He is now faithfully carrying out his duties as a public service officer.”

Kim Dongwan was the next Shinhwa member after Eric to enlist for military service. After enlisting on 17th November last year, he was deployed to the Seodaemun Administrative Office on 12 December after 4 weeks of basic military training at Gongju.

[09.04.16] Shin Hyesung: I did a random dance when I auditioned for Shinhwa

On the 15th April episode of SBS music program ‘Kim Jung Eun’s Chocolate’, singer Shin Hyesung introduced the song ‘Love Without Regrets’ by the group Position, taken off their 1996 debut album as an unforgettable song that he holds dear to his heart. “I sang this song at an audition for the group that eventually made its debut as Shinhwa.”

“I didn’t aspire to be a singer at first. By chance I followed a friend who had dreams of becoming a singer to the audition and I sang in front of Mr Lee Soo Man. I only got to sing a very short part of the song, so I thought that I was going to get dropped.”

However Shin Hyesung was then asked to dance. He recalled, “At that time I was told to do a dance, but I really couldn’t dance at all. Although at auditions you would do anything to get selected but I flat refused and said, ‘I’m afraid I don’t like to dance. I won’t dance and I can’t dance.’ But the music had already started and I couldn’t do anything but to do a random dance.”

After that revelation, the audience all wanted to see the now-balladeer Shin Hyesung in action, and he eventually abandoned his reservations and performed an adorable dance to the cheers of the audience.

Shin Hyesung has been actively promoting his 3rd album with the title track ‘Why Did You Call’, where the music video was shot in Japan. To the amusement of the audience, he also shared the story of having to put up with the smell of manure on the snow while he had to maintain his composure to convey sad emotions for the filming.

[09.04.16] Lee Yoo Jin makes a comeback to acting & pairs up with Andy in “Two Wives”

Actress Lee Yoo Jin will make her comeback to drama after 5 years in the upcoming SBS daily drama ‘Two Wives’. She will play health club trainer Jo Mimi, the best friend of female protagonist Yoon Young Hee (played by Kim Ji Young).

Coming back to acting 5 years after the SBS daily drama ‘Choice’ in 2004, Lee Yoo Jin said, “It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a drama, and I’m nervous and excited at the same time. The first thing I’m thinking about is to do a good job. Especially since this is a daily drama the audience will be even more in tune with it. I’ve always thought of trying a daily drama at least once.”

About the character of Jo Mimi, Lee Yoo Jin said, “Mimi’s outward appearance and actions are similar to my own, so I hope to play out this character as naturally as I can. Moreover in the drama, I will be playing out an older woman-younger man romance with Andy, and everyone will be amused to see a character with a bright smile.”

‘Two Wives’ will take over ‘Wife’s Temptation’ from 4th May onwards, and aims to show the love between married couples and families in the modern day context. The drama will feature Kim Ji Young, Son Tae Young, Kang Ji Sub, Kim Yoon Gyung, Kang Sang Jin, Andy, Kim Yong Rim, Kim Young Ran among others.

[09.04.16] Junjin-Lee Shi Young to exit WGM; reshuffling of all couples

w1

Rumours of Junjin and Lee Shi Young leaving MBC variety show ‘We Got Married’ have been circulating.

However, statements from both camps are contradictory. A spokesperson from Junjin’s management agency strongly denied the rumours and said over a phone interview, “The rumours are completely unfounded. We’ll be having a meeting this week to discuss how things are going to proceed.”

With regards to this, the spokesperson from Lee Shi Young’s management agency said, “It’s true that Lee Shi Young will be leaving the show. It’s just that this is the time where adjustment is necessary. After leaving WGM, Lee Shi Young will be busy with her movie and dramas.”

On the other hand, Jung Hyung Don and Tae Yeon have been confirmed to leave in May with the revamp of the show. What will then happen to Shin Sung Rok-Kim Shin Young and Kang In-Lee Yoon Ji? Shin Sung Rok and Kim Shin Young have not given any comments as to whether or not they will be leaving the show, while Kang In and Lee Yoon Ji said through their management agencies that they have not heard anything about them leaving the show.

However, Shin Sung Rok has recently been cast in the upcoming movie, ‘The Age of Innocence’, and Lee Shi Young has been preparing for a new drama after she wrapped up filming for the movie ‘Ogamdo’. Junjin will also be busy with the launch of his new album and his Asia tour. All these factors, to some extent, lend some weight to the rumours.

It remains to be seen what the fate of the remaining couples will be.

[09.04.15] Are Junjin and Lee Shi Young dating? “We don’t even meet outside of work”

Lee Shi Young has denied rumours that she is dating Junjin.

On 15th April, there was an article reporting that the WGM couple is dating for real, and claimed that insider sources had said, “Junjin and Lee Shi Young both have candid and honest characters, and they have gradually developed mutual understanding and feelings for each other through the programme.”

To this a spokesperson from Lee Shi Young’s management company said, “We checked with Shi Young herself when we saw the article this morning, and she found it really absurd.”

“Though they started off on the wrong foot during their early episodes on the show, it’s a fact that they did get to know each other better and become closer gradually. But besides meeting for the recording of the show, they don’t meet up with each other outside of work. It could be that their improved relationship has sparked off rumours like this.”

Junjin and Lee Shi Young started their ‘married life’ as a couple on MBC’s We Got Married since January this year, and have attracted much interest from viewers. Lee Shi Young’s unique hobbies have also been a topic of discussion among viewers and netizens.

Lee Shi Young has just concluded filming for the omnibus movie Ogamdo, and has also made an appearance in KBS drama “Again, My Love”. She also has various CFs in the pipeline.

[09.04.14] Public service officer Kim Dongwan commutes to work by bus

I know a lot of Dongwan fans will try to catch the bus now to get a glimpse of our Prince going to work early in the morning. “I take the bus to work!”

The revelation that Shinhwa member Kim Dongwan (30), who started working at the Seodaemun Administrative Office since last December as a public service officer, commutes to work by bus has become a topic of interest.

A spokesperson from Kim Dongwan’s management company said, “Except for the first day Dongwan reported for duty when he went by car, he has been commuting by bus. His workplace is near his home and it’s convenient for him to take the bus.”

Kim Dongwan feels happy taking the bus to work everyday just like everyone else. Since he made his debut with Shinhwa at just 19, he has spent all his time in the public eye, very conscious of his status as a star. Now that he’s able to take a break from his life as a star, he is enjoying leading a normal life. According to the spokesperson, “Dongwan was laughing when he said, “When I take the bus in the early hours of the morning, there aren’t many people who recognize me.” Lately when we see Dongwan he looks really happy.”
