At 1.30pm on April 1st, Shin Hyesung sent his good friend Kangta (An Chil Hyun) to the 306 Replacement Center in Uijungbu, Gyeonggi-do. Shin Hyesung met up with Kangta very early in the morning, and accompanied him to the training centre, a sign of his close friendship with Kangta.
In the early days of their debut, Shinhwa and H.O.T belonged to the same management company SM Entertainment. Shin Hyesung and Kangta have become close friends since their trainee days.
Shin Hyesung has always been a loyal friend, and he said that he "couldn't let Kangta go to the army without doing anything."
Kangta will serve 2 years in the army starting from today. After Moon Hee Jun, Kangta is the second H.O.T member to enlist for military duty. Jang Woo Hyuk is currently serving his military duty as a public welfare officer due to health issues.
