[11.02.11] Kim Dongwan fills in for Tony An on “100 Points out of 100 Points”

First-generation idol Kim Dongwan fills in for Tony An as a one-day MC on KBS2′s “100 Points out of 100 Points” and proves that his variety instinct is still very much intact.

After being discharged from military service, Kim Dongwan has been appearing on various variety shows, and this time he fills in for Tony An – who recently suffered the loss of his father – on the show as a special one-day MC.

During the recording for this particular episode, Kim Dongwan was even more enthusiastic about the games than the juniors and often came up with witty adlibs.

In addition, Kim Dongwan left fellow MC Park Myung Soo flustered with his remarks. Unlike Tony An who seems intimidated by Park Myung Soo, Kim Dongwan teamed up with MC Park Kyung Lim to “attack” Park Myung Soo instead, much to the laughter of the guests.

This episode will be aired on 12 Feb at 5.15pm on KBS2.

Even though I always say this…
I don’t eat chocolate.
I don’t like chocolate.
Because when I’m working out (to build muscles) I will eat 3 to 4 bars…
Something that you do when you’re suffering, you will end up hating it, isn’t that how it is?
(Like a model on a diet who eats only chicken breast, she will hate even looking at chickens…)
So please don’t give chocolates. To me…
I will give them all away even if I receive them! ㅎㅎㅎ

[11.02.11] ‘Poseidon’ to premiere on 9th May on SBS

Eric’s comeback drama project “Poseidon” will take over the Mon-Tue slot from “Midas” on SBS in early May.

A rep from the production team told Newsen on 11 Feb, “Poseidon will begin airing from early May, after Midas – starring Kim Hee Ae, Jang Hyuk and Lee Min Jung – wraps up.”

“Poseidon” stars Kim Kang Woo, Eric, DBSK’s U-Know Yunho, Kim Ok Bin and Jeon Hye Bin among others. Filming has already started in Tongyeong and Gunsan.

The rep added, “Due to the cold weather, filming is scheduled to resume next week. As the drama is about the special rescue team within the coast guard, the cast members are all putting in their best efforts prior to filming. The cast members are all getting along with one another very well.”

“Poseidon” is slated to premiere on 9th May.

[11.02.11] “My ideal type is Sulli”, Kim Dongwan’s tug-of-war with fans

The interesting “psychological battle” between Shinhwa’s Kim Dongwan and his fans has turned into a hot topic lately.

Footage of Kim Dongwan’s first post-military service fanmeeting in Seoul was unveiled on KBS2′s Entertainment Relay. Kim Dongwan, who was recently discharged from military service in December, chose KARA’s Han Seung Yeon and f(x)’s Sulli as his “energizers” during his service period. When Kim Dongwan justified his choice with the reason that “Sulli has a pretty face”, he was greeted with playful jeers from the fans who said, “She can be your daughter!”

Kim Dongwan got up from his seat and yelled in mock rage, “I don’t mean it that way!” – leading to an adorable squabble with the fans. The unexpected “standoff” between Kim Dongwan and his fans has amused many.

Netizens who saw the footage commented, “You can feel their affection amidst the noisy banter”, and that “Kim Dongwan and his fans are really adorable”.

[11.02.09] Liveworks notice: Delayed release date for Hyesung’s 4th album…

Hello, this is Liveworks Company.

We have some unfortunate news to deliver.

Firstly, the release of Shin Hyesung’s 4th album – which was previously scheduled for late February/early March – will be delayed.

After the year-end concert last year, Hyesung has been fully committed to working on the album
But he has now come down with a serious bout of influenza and body aches.
In the meantime, while he’s been monitoring his health status, he has been coming for recording sessions whenever he is feeling better
But we’ve decided that recording cannot proceed right now.

To us here at Liveworks,
The health of our artists is our top priority,
So we’ve put recording on hold,
And Hyesung will resume recording once he fully recovers.

To the fans who’ve been waiting for so long, this is a rather disappointing piece of news
And we are truly sorry about that, and we seek the understanding of the fans.
We will put in our best efforts so that the album can be released as soon as possible
And after we resume the recording sessions,
We will announce the exact date of release through an official notice.

To the fans, please take good care of your health,
And once we’ve firmed up all the details regarding the 4th album
We will make an announcement via the official website.

Thank you.

[11.02.08] Dongwan’s memolog: At the hospital today…

There were a lot of people, since it’s the New Year holidays, and I expected to wait for some time
So I sat in the corner, and quietly chatted with my Japanese friend over Whatsapp.

After about 20 minutes…
The nurse – “Mr Kim Dongwan~”
Me – “Hai!” (“yes” in Japanese)

There was a silence of about 2 seconds…

Saying “HAI!”…. Well…-_-;
People would think that I’ve been living in Japan…ㅜㅜ

Note from Sumi:

The first 2 lines are taken from a children’s New Year song (just in case you’re interested to know how it sounds like, here you go). For reference, the day before Seollal is referred to as “Kkachi Seollal” (Magpie New Year’s Day) – thus the lyrics of the song…

I think it’s a festive week for many of us, in whatever culture it may be (Chinese New Year, Seollal, Tết), so here’s wishing everyone HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

By the way – new profile pic!

까치 까치 설날은 어저께고요~ (Kkachi kkachi seollareun eojeokkegoyo~)
Magpie, magpie, New Year’s Day was yesterday~
우리 우리 설날은 오늘이래요~ (Uri uri seollareun oneul iraeyo~)
Us, us, New Year’s Day comes today~

Enjoy the holidays together with your family~!!!
