MC: Who is the most knowledgeable amongst Shinhwa?*Everyone points at Dongwan*Dongwan: I just have a certain area of knowledge. I don’t really know a lot.
Dongwan, you are always way too humble. His various blog posts over the years, from movie and book quotes to insights about current issues and events, show a man who is not only intelligent, but someone who is constantly seeking out more knowledge. During his 2-year service as a public officer, he went to a private academy to learn Japanese after work. He also went to an English academy for a month (and probably would’ve continued if he hadn’t gotten crazy busy with filming his movie and preparing for Shinhwa’s comeback).
His well-known wit and eloquence were why he became the first idol ever to host his own radio show (1010 Club from 2000-2002). He’s known for keeping up with current events (there are accounts of him showing up to demonstrations when national problems have arisen over the years). Junjin once mentioned that Dongwan knows so much about health that when the people around them get sick, they go to Dongwan instead of the hospital. If you watched his part in the making of the ‘Venus’ music video, he explains the capabilities of the fancy camera lens to the Liveworks CEO (the videographer confirms what he says and CEO Jang is amazed XD). He’s also someone who gives sound life advice to his friends and hoobaes. I could go on and on (and probably will at some point…perhaps for the next editorial^^).
