Today I’m going to update you on Shin Hyesung’s long-awaited 4th album.
Firstly, we are sorry to inform you that the 4th album will be released later than what we have previously promised everyone.
Although we’d really like to let everyone see the new album in January, but new to various production issues, the album can only be released later.
The biggest reason for the delay of the 4th album, is the selection of the songs, including the title track, which we need to spend more time and efforts on.
Everyone may have the same feelings towards this album, but this is a very important album on Hyesung’s road ahead as a singer.
So compared to the other albums, we’re a lot more troubled over the song selection process.
As everyone knows, in the mainstream music market these days, the trend is to focus only on one song, and so the concept of a full album has completely crumbled
Recently from what I can remember, the only full albums released recently are Big Bang unit group GD & TOP’s 1st album and Jung Won Young’s 5th album.
One of the biggest problems we have in preparing for Shin Hyesung’s new album is also its format.
Even the distributor for the album has raised doubts about the release of a full album.
Compared to releasing a full album, the practice in the industry nowadays is to release a digital single for EP-format album, maximize the songs to be released over several albums and then have continuous promotional activities within 1 year.

And the road ahead for Hyesung is also to be a singer
From a long-term perspective, I think that in order to prolong the longevity of a singing career, concerts are the way to go.
Concerts are the best platform for singers to showcase their musical abilities, where they can develop other kinds of musical talents, and where they can prepare for the next album.
Hyesung’s new album is a full album.
Full albums have almost disappeared in the music market, and the reason for insisting on a full album is concerts.

And after the release of the 4th album, Hyesung will embark on even more extensive concert activities.
Not just the small-scale format that we tried in December, there will be a variety of concert formats.
Besides the 4th album, there are also plans to work on an album with a brand new kind of music in the 2nd half of the year.
We don’t want to go with the trend of focusing on only one song, which is hard to maintain for more than 1 week in the market these days
And we don’t want to let Hyesung continue with his singing activities by increasing his profile through things other than the music that he wants to make.
Hyesung is the only singer out of many other singers from idol groups to only focus on music.
And just as this album doesn’t need to be promoted based on one song that can’t express a singer’s musical direction clearly, there are still many people who are waiting for the album and the concerts.
And he’s a singer who can be steadily active in overseas markets just based on his music alone.
For a singer with these qualities, it would not be right to center his promotions around a single or one song.
Our target is to release the 4th album within the month of February.
After its domestic release in February, special editions of the album will also be released in Japan, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The extra efforts we have put into this album are not just on the songs, but also on its packaging.
We will repay everyone’s patience with an album of good songs and also new performances.
I’ve written here before, Hyesung will not follow the trend, instead he will set the trend, and this way he will go an even longer way.
Even if he can’t receive widespread popularity from the masses, he will still work hard to be a good singer with good songs for a long time from now.
