Shinhwa member Eric (Mun Jung Hyuk) will be discharged from military service next month, and has expressed his strong intent to return as an actor.
The earliest among his fellow members to enlist, he has been serving as a public service officer at the Sports Complex subway station, and has been cutting back on meeting friends and acquaintances from showbiz for the past 2 years, fully enjoying his personal time. He has been most concerned about his future acting activities.
Particularly, he has gained over 20kg of weight over this period of time, and lost the excess weight as well. According to an insider, this was to allow him to experience the weight-gaining and weight-losing process often experienced by actors for their works, such as actor Sol Kyung-gu for his film ‘Rikidozan’.
He added, “Weighing more than 90kg, he was nearly unrecognizable, not even by his close friends. Because he had never tried putting on so much weight before, he had to do so by eating supper every night among other ways. He has since then lost the excess weight and is now back to his original weight of 70kg.”
Eric has already received invitations to star in several dramas, and is now making long-term plans and preparations for his screen comeback.
Apparently, he has also been working on his songwriting skills, and has plans to release a hip-hop digital single around the end of the year.
