Several singers will be making their return to the music industry as they complete their military service in the second half of the year.
Lee Jung was the first to be discharged last month. Having completed 22 months of active duty after enlisting with the Marines on 20th October 2008, he has completed his service and returned in good health.
Upon his discharge, Lee Jung has immediately started work on his new album. A rep from his management company said, “His new album should be released around mid-October. Unlike his ballad style which he has presented to everyone before, he will display a tougher image with a new style of music.”
Former H.O.T member Tony An will also be returning in October. Having enlisted on 4th November 2008, Tony An is scheduled to be discharged on 14 September. Tony An has been active on army radio channel KFM as a radio DJ and has been serving his duty as part of the Defense Media Agency. He has only a week of military service left.
According to a rep from his management company, Tony An will be taking a short rest before meeting with his fans via a solo album at the end of October.
Shinhwa member Eric will complete his military duty on 22th October. Eric enlisted on 9th October 2008, and was deployed to the Sports Complex subway station as a public service officer.
Eric will first make his comeback in a drama. A rep from his management company said that Eric has already received offers from several drama productions, and with less than 2 months to go before his return, he is now carefully considering his options.
As fellow members Kim Dongwan, Lee Minwoo, Junjin and Andy are still serving their military duty, group activities may not be possible for now, thus Eric will work on a solo album first. The rep added that work on the album will only start after the schedule for his comeback drama has been decided.
The second half of 2010 marks the much-anticipated return of the original idol singers, who look set to take the music industry by storm.
