[09.10.15] Junjin expected to enlist for military service on 22nd October

Singer Junjin has made a surprise announcement of his enlistment for military service this coming 22nd October. This means that his recording for ‘Infinite Challenge’ on 15th October is expected to be his last recording for the show.

According to a close aide of Junjin, Junjin is scheduled to report for duty at the 306 reserve battalion at Uijeongbu in Gyeonggi-do. Junjin will undergo 4 weeks of basic military training before being deployed as a public service officer to serve out his enlistment period.

Junjin had previously undergone a physical examination where he received a Grade 4 evaluation due to his chronic back pains caused by a back injury. The source added, “Taking his back surgery and work schedules into consideration, we had plans to apply for postponement of the enlistment date but the MMA’s (Military Manpower Administration) decision was for him to enlist on the 22nd.”

Currently in the midst of filming for ‘Infinite Challenge’ in Gyeonggi-do, this looks likely to be his last appearance. This also means that Junjin will be left out of the plans for Infinite Challenge’s New York project.

Born in 1980, Junjin started his showbiz career with Shinhwa, and had gone on to expand his activities to acting and also as a solo singer. He joined the IC team as its 7th member last June after appearing in the ‘Money Bag Special’. However since the end of July, Junjin has been struggling with his frequent absences from IC filming due to the release of his new album, a toe injury, and collapsing from overwork amongst other health concerns.
