[08.07.03][news] Support for Iljimae vs Dislike for Strongest Chil Woo

first, eric's words were taken out of context - he was talking
about the antis in response to the rumours about Shinhwa disbanding for goodness
sake - and how in the world would this dude know if eric isn't working on
improving his acting? and ratings...RATINGS?! i'm not about to even start on
that.

whatever. i know this isn't even remotely enough to get eric down,
and i won't let it get to me either.

just one
last thing to mr reporter: you seem rather good at writing fiction, ever
considered a career in novels or scriptwriting? *

After traditional Korean hero Hong Gil Dong has left the TV screen, other traditional heroes Iljimae and Chil Woo have joined the fray. Shinhwa member Eric is currently starring in KBS2 Mon/Tue drama Strongest Chil Woo, while Lee Joon Ki headlines the SBS Wed/Thu drama Iljimae.

As these 2 heroes are from a similar era and share a similar concept, both dramas have been subject to many comparisons. However the results and ratings are poles apart. Iljimae's ratings have been staying above 20% and dominating the Wed/Thu drama battle, while ratings for Strongest Chil Woo has been languishing around 10%, lagging behind rival drama Gourmet.

Similar images, similar backgrounds, both are heroes who help the commoners in turbulent times, why do they receive such different responses?

(unrelated info omitted)

Eric has yet to prove himself to the critics who have doubts about his acting abilities. Everytime he's involved in a drama or movie project, "doubts about his acting abilities" is always an issue. What's important is not to move away from these kind of comments, it's the attitude towards such comments. Humbly accepting these comments will help him to develop and improve further. Staying stagnant at this point, he will eventually fall out of the race and fail in becoming an actor.

During a recent interview, Eric commented "(After reading these criticisms) I felt that I have many antis." It seems that he isn't really commenting on the problems of his own acting, but rather interpreting these comments more as a problem with the viewers.
