Watching KBS/SBS/MBC live broadcasts…

ONLINE SITES
These are the sites I usually use when I don’t have access to TVants (see below), but some of you may have other live streaming sites so please feel free to throw in your recommendations!

KBS

http://able.kbs.co.kr/live/index.html
Note: Please use only IE… other browsers don’t quite work. And remember to disable any pop-up blockers too.

1. Click on the link that says ‘2TV’.
2. A screen will appear in a pop-up window.
3. Be patient and wait for it to buffer.
4. Enjoy!

Do note that connection can be pretty bad, and from time to time you may get disconnected. Just close the pop-up window and click on ‘2TV’ and repeat the process.

SBS / MBC

SBS

Note: The logo on the screen may say ‘CJB SBS’ or ‘GTB SBS’ but everything still follows the same programme schedule.

MBC

I haven’t had problems watching when I use Firefox, but if you should encounter any problems just switch to IE.

TVANTS (Software installation required)

Some of you may be already very familiar with this software. It has most key Korean channels available (KBS/SBS/MBC/Mnet/KMTV/YTN) so it’s probably the most comprehensive method.

1. Download the software HERE
2. Run the program to install it.
3. After installation, run the program and you should arrive at the search tab. You’ll see most of the Korean channels there, but if the channel you’re looking for isn’t there – just use the search field.
