Freshly discharged from his military duties on 30 Oct, singer Eric will start filming for the drama ‘Poseidon’ from 8 Nov onwards.
Eric’s first filming session will take place in Gunsan in the province of North Jeolla, and this officially marks his return to showbiz. “Poseidon” is Korea’s first drama to be based on the Korean Coast Guard, and Eric plays Kim Seon Woo, a coast guard officer with a cute yet tough personality, who rises up the ranks to become a coast guard commando.
Eric’s rep told OSEN, “Eric has started working out ahead of the start of filming, and since he was serving as a public service officer, after his discharge he didn’t do much except to have a simple meal with his parents. Since then he has started his preparations for the drama, and will start filming on 8 Nov.”
Eric was one of the first idol singers to succeed as an actor, proving himself with remarkable performances in dramas such as “Phoenix”, “Super Rookie” and “Strongest Chil Woo”. He enlisted for military service in Oct 2008 and was subsequently deployed as a public service officer at the Sports Complex subway station in Seoul. On 30 Oct he was officially discharged from military service, and received a rousing welcome from about 500 fans from all over the world, including countries like Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Canada, proving his undiminished popularity.
