The interview with Shin Hyesung was very lighthearted, because we weren’t talking just about whatever about Shin Hyesung, but rather a focused chat about ‘Keep Leaves’.
“It’s easy to make an album where most efforts are placed on the title track and the first few songs, and then just doing a slipshod job for the songs at the end. But I don’t want to do that. Because this is my album.”
It could be his self-consciousness as a musician, or his stubbornness regarding his albums, but he definitely did not use his time to come up with two ‘makeshift’ albums.
Moreover, “once I decide to produce the album, I’ll put in my all to do it well”, he works hard to move in that direction. One becomes a true musician or actor when he gives it his best efforts, instead of relying on his name, to get results. So Shin Hyesung is a true singer who hasn’t been eroded by his background as an idol-turned-solo singer.
