Jewelry S member Ha Joo Yeon apparently was from the same high school in Los Angeles as Alice Kim-Cage, wife of Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage. This information also uncovered even more famous alumni who are now active in Korean showbiz.
Ha Joo Yeon and Alice Kim-Cage both graduated from Granada Hills High School, with Alice Kim being Ha Joo Yeon’s senior by two years. Ha Joo Yeon recently revealed in an interview that Alice Kim-Cage was not only popular among the Asian students, but among the white students too.
Besides Ha Joo Yeon, Shin Hyesung, member of popular group Shinhwa, also studied at Granada Hills High School for a period of time. Having headed to the US at 16, he studied there but came back to Korea during his final year of high school and graduated from Seoul’s Shin Il High School.
Shin Hyesung revealed the reason behind his decision to study in the US on a variety show last year - a junior that he was fond of starting dating another guy while he was away on a family vacation in the US, and after learning about it, he was so hurt by it that he told his parents that he wanted to stay on and study there.
Other famous Korean alumni include former Click-B member Woo Yeon Seok, duo Shyne (twins Bonnie and Sunny Lee), and KARA member Han Seung Yeon.
