“It’s true that Amy and I are in love, to me she’s like my resting place, my shelter.”
During an interview held on 19th Dec at a restaurant in downtown Tokyo, Lee Minwoo candidly shared his thoughts on his budding romance with Amy. “I’m being very careful about this. The love from the fans have helped me develop as a singer, and I feel very apologetic towards them. But it’s true that Amy and I are seeing each other. Although I wanted to tell the fans about our relationship much earlier, but being a public figure I have my own difficulties. I really feel very sorry to the fans.”
He further expressed his gratitude to his fans, “During the 10 years since my debut, the love and support from the fans have helped me come this far. I really thank them a lot, and I’m very grateful to them. It’s nothing short of a miracle that I became a Hallyu star since I left Namwon (Minwoo’s hometown) for Seoul, and that I’m being loved by fans from Japan and other countries in Asia.
For Minwoo, Amy attracted him with her forthright and honest personality. “She’s like a regular girl rather than a celebrity. Even when she received many negative comments for her show, she seemed to be handling it very well. It was very tough for her because of all the comments, but she is even more attractive because of how she held up well in that situation.”
He added, “We were paired up as a couple on KBS2’s Kkokko Tour, and actually I felt feelings of love for her at a certain moment during the filming of the programme. I worked hard for the show, but gradually I felt more and more attracted to Amy. I want to be forthcoming with the fans and tell them about our relationship. I’m really grateful for the blessings and kind wishes that the fans have given us.”
On the shortlived Kkokko Tour, the apparent closeness between Lee Minwoo and Amy had sparked off much suspicion of a real-life romantic relationship, in particular the underwater kiss that they shared, which was a hot topic of discussion among viewers.
Lee Minwoo has recently released his 4th solo album and is in the midst of his album promotional activities. Amy, on the other hand, came to fame after appearing in Bad Girl’s Diary on cable channel O’live.
