[08.05.02][news] Updates on Strongest Chil Woo (2 articles)

Eric and Gu Hye Sun play a couple in 'Strongest Chil Woo'

KBS2's 'Strongest Chil Woo', which has started filming in late April, depicts a lowly najang who becomes a deadly assassin by night. The title role is played by Shinhwa's Eric. The production team of the drama says, "Chil Woo is a Korean superhero, a combination of traits from Superman and ninjas, with the emotions of the big brothers around us."

Chil Woo's love interest is played by Gu Hye Sun, who has already appeared in other sageuk dramas such as 'Seo Dong Yo' and 'The King And I'. However, she has nothing but praise for Eric, "He's an actor whom I can learn a lot from."

Im Haryong plays Chil Woo's foster father Choi Nam Duk. The drama will start its run on 9 June.

"If I knew the hanbok fits me so well, I would have acted in a sageuk drama long ago"

Pictures of Eric (Mun Jung Hyuk) in a hanbok has finally been unveiled.

Since Eric started acting, he has always been appearing in contemporary dramas, sporting a very strong cosmopolitan image that's not quite appropriate for sageuk dramas. However the production team has expressed their satisfaction with Eric's new image.

Eric said through a spokesperson, "It's a little stressful since I have to put on a hanbok. The first time I put it on it felt very awkward, but I felt better only when everyone else said that it fits me very well. And I discovered that sageuk dramas are very interesting too."

The production team expressed, "Filming has started, and because it's a fusion sageuk drama, there's no need to worry too much."
