Some celebrities use two different names, just like Rain and Eric. Otherwise known as Jung Ji Hoon and Mun Jung Hyuk respectively, there isn't any preference to which names they use, but this allows them to move on in different fields.

Shinhwa's Eric uses his Korean name Mun Jung Hyuk when he takes on dramas. Having impressed with his natural acting in Phoenix, Super Rookie, KSAa and Que Sera Sera, he will be making a comeback to dramas in KBS2's Strongest Chil Woo, with a brand new image to boot.
But Mun Jung Hyuk never fails to remind everyone that he is Shinhwa's Eric. At the recent Shinhwa 10th anniversary concert, Shinhwa members showed their confidence and trust in each other and in the fact that Shinhwa will continue. Eric said that no matter where he would be, and how many 10 years that will pass, he will make sure that Shinhwa goes on.
It's said that Eric was offered huge contractual fees to go solo, but he chose to stay with the members because of the strong bonds he had with the members. In any case, that was the trigger that set him off on a dual career path as singer and actor.
When singers diversify their careers to take on acting, they often use English names when they resume their singing activities. However, there aren't many in the actor/singer category who have managed to do well on both ends. Out of these, Rain and Eric are the more prominent ones.
Other idol group members have also branched out into acting, such as Super Junior's Shindong (Shin Dong-hee) in Single Papa In Love; SNSD's Yoon Ah in You're My Destiny; Seeya member Nam Gyu Ri in the movie The Story with Lee Bum Soo; and Ahn So Hee in the movie I Like It Hot.
It will be interesting to see if they are able to achieve the level of success as multi-entertainers, just like Rain and Eric have.
