[08.05.09][news] Mun Jung Hyuk transforms into the Strongest hero

Since winning the Best New Actor award and the Popularity Award for his role as Seo Jongmin in Phoenix, Eric has gone on to pursue greater heights in his acting career as Mun Jung Hyuk, and not as Shinhwa's Eric. He has since then given impressive performances in Super Rookie, KSA and Que Sera Sera, firmly establishing himself as an actor.

Returning to the small screen one year after Que Sera Sera, Mun Jung Hyuk has now taken up the challenge of a sageuk drama. Starring in KBS2's Strongest Chil Woo as the righteous assassin and titular character, Mun Jung Hyuk has declared his comeback.

Top male stars are recently appearing in various sageuk dramas and films, such as Lee Junki in the TV drama Iljimae and Kang Dongwon in the movie Jeon Woo Chi. These two roles tend to capture viewers' attention as they are familiar folk heroes, while Kang Chil Woo aims to be a realistic and approachable "Korean Superman".

A lowly najang (judicial court official) by day, Kang Chil Woo turns into a highly-skilled assassin who punishes the evildoers and delivers justice. For the highly difficult action scenes in the drama, Mun Jung Hyuk has been undergoing intensive training and his efforts have all paid off. He'll be bringing viewers a combination of his own unique character as well as exciting action stunts, and viewers can all look forward to Korea's version of Superman, Kang Chil Woo.

Besides spectacular action scenes, moving emotional scenes are also a key highlight of Mun Jung Hyuk's role in Strongest Chil Woo. The drama will be aired on 9 June on KBS2, and will be up against When Night Comes starring Kim Sun Ah and Lee Dong Gun, and Gourmet starring Kim Rae Won and Nam Sang Mi.
