[09.02.08] Kissing scene in Infinite Challenge’s BBF parody grabs attention

The Boys Before Flowers fever has finally hit MBC’s Infinite Challenge.

After the emotional bobsled challenge, the Infinite Challenge team has now moved on to their next challenge, a parody of Boys Before Flowers, which gave rise to the “Gu Junpyo Syndrome”.

The preview trailer for “Infinite Challenge - Mudo (*short for IC’s Korean title Muhandojeon) Before Flowers” was unveiled at the end of the 7th Feb episode. Yoo Jaesuk, Park Myung Soo, Jung Hyung Don, Jung Jun Ha, Noh Hong Chul and Junjin filmed the BBF parody on 22 Jan.

Park Myung Soo takes the Gu Junpyo character, played in the original drama by Lee Minho; Yoo Jaesuk takes the Yoon Jihoo character, played by SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong. Jung Jun Ha and Noh Hong Chul take the roles of Song Woo Bin (played by Kim Joon) and Song Yijung (played by Kim Bum). Junjin makes a radical transformation into the Geum Jandi character (played by Gu Hyesun),while Jung Hyung Don takes the Ga-eul character (played by Kim So Eun).

In Mudo Before Flowers, other than the basic structure of the ‘luxury’ F4 and ‘commoner’ Geum Jandi characters, each character also draws inspiration from makjang dramas. It has been quite some time since Infinite Challenge last had one of its dramatized specials, which viewers can be expecting more of in future. (*makjang dramas are dramas with high ratings but typical, and sometimes lame, plots - think Autumn In My Heart, Winter Sonata, East of Eden)

From the preview, besides an attention-grabbing kissing scene between Park Myung Soo’s Gu Junpyo character and Junjin’s Geum Jandi character, viewers can also expect typical makjang plots such as chronic illness.
